Master Teacher Observations will be available again September 9, 2019.
Research indicates that one of the best ways to improve instructional practice is to observe excellent teachers. As a part of B.E.S.T., new teachers will be given the opportunity to conduct
½ day observations in identified Master Teachers’ classrooms in EBRPSS. The cost of your substitute will be covered by Title II.
These opportunities will be available to new teachers on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning October 1st.
The Master Teachers on the list were nominated by their principals/administrator’s, and have agreed to host up to three new teachers in their classrooms during the school year. Included on the list are the Master Teachers’ subjects or grades and schools, as well as their particular instructional strengths according to both their principals and the Master Teachers themselves. Our hope is that with this information, you will be able to strategically select a Master Teacher to observe whose areas of expertise best match your professional development needs.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please follow this procedure:
1. Email Beanka Williams ([email protected]), after September 9th, the names of the top three master teachers that you would like to observe.
2. You will receive the contact information of one of the master teachers, as well as a master teacher observation packet (including Professional Leave Forms, observation rubrics, etc) in the PONY.
3. You must contact the master teacher yourself to arrange a mutually convenient observation time.
4. Email Beanka Williams the observation date, and return the Professional Leave Form to her at Central Office through the PONY.
5. When you have completed the observation, please send a copy of your observation rubric to Beanka Williams at Central Office for documentation purposes.
